Ellie's Words (at 20 months)

Ellie has a friend named Ellie (born the same week even). That Ellie has been speaking since they were 12 months old. She doesn't just say "mom"" and "dad". This girl would say things like "I'm hungry". All the while, my Ellie was still working on "dog".

Well, now months have passed and I need to write down Ellie's words as of now before she turns into a parrot (she's close by the way). She's really doing great and she even surpasses what the doctor says is average. Anyway...

  1. Mom-ma
  2. Dad-da
  3. Noooooo
  4. Uhh (yes)
  5. bye
  6. Eye
  7. No (nose)
  8. Mou (mouth)
  9. Bay (Brain)
  10. Toes
  11. Cho Cho (train)
  12. Woof (dog)
  13. Moon
  14. Shh (be quite)
  15. Bee (for any bug)
  16. Be (beans)
  17. Chee (cheese)
  18. Ju (juice)
  19. bubbub (bubbles)
  20. ba (bath)
  21. Rain
  22. Ouch!
  23. Bay Be! (baby)
  24. Bay E (bayli)
  25. Ma Ma (grandma)

Ellie- Potty Trained?

Ellie and I hav a ritual. She wakes up, I open her door and she hands me a diaper. I change her, she throws away her old diaper and we wash our hands.

This morning she wakes up, I open her door and she grabs my hand and leads me into her bathroom. I sat her on her toilet and she went! I asked her if she wanted a diaper and she said "Noooo" so she spent her morning running around naked. I was amazed that she made it all morning, all the way till nap time, dry! No accidents, no diaper. This girl amazes me!

Nursery- Easy Transition

Ellie is now in nursery at church. She likes it but it took her about two months to get the hang of things. Daddy had to stay in with her while I taught my class for the first few weeks. Last week she still needed him to go in for the first few minutes and then she let him leave. She was so good! The teachers said she didn't even cry. I'm proud of her, she's braver than I am! After a few incidents of being scratched so hard she still has scars, I am still apprehensive of letting her stay in there! I suppose the snacks, music time, coloring and socializing all make it worth it.

It's a cold, snowy Valentine's Day but we're not letting that stop us! Ellie and I are on a mission to make today awesome! First we had crepes with apples for breakfast. Oh my goodness they were amazing. Next we did some coloring in her new coloring book followed by a painting project. Paint always leads to a bath but today it was a bubble bath with pink bubbles. Once she was dry we had lunch and headed out to play in the snow. Now she's just munching on oatmeal squares.

Yesterday I made a special trip to the park. Ellie has always loved swinging so I put her in the toddler swing and gave her a little push. She screamed a mad/scared little scream so I stopped the swing and just rocked it while holding onto her and that also made her scream. I thought I'd let her just run free. She liked that a little but she didn't actually run. She just stood there at which point I found that there was broken glass everywhere so we just left. Not at all what I envisioned but it was still a great time to snap some photos!

Washington and Oregon Trip

Gary promised me that if we don't live in Washington we can go visit my family every two years. He has kept his promise! We just got back from our 3rd trip since we've been married. We flew since the drive would be 25 hours. I wasn't sure how Ellie would do on an airplane so I over prepared. We bought tons of Dollar Tree toys just for the plane. We bought new coloring books, crayons, board books, fun new snacks and we even bought her a fruit smoothie for take-off. She did great too. She is an awesome traveler.

We had a blast with my family. Colton's Christmas gift to us was taking us to a Blazers vs. Nuggets game in Portland. Gary cheered for the Nuggets of course while the rest of us cheered for the Blazers. The Blazers won but it was close! Since they scored over 100 we got free chalupas from Taco Bell. I was suprised at how good those things are!

Bayli wanted to have a girls night so her, Karen and I all went out to see Parental Guidance. We also went on a Target shopping trip and went out to Thai food for dinner. We ended the night with amazing frozen yogurt at Menchies. It was the best girls night I've ever had, that's for sure! It was fun.

Gary and Colton had a lot of fun playing Battle Star Galactica. They played pretty much the whole time. Bayli and I made 3 batches of fudge, trying to find the perfect recipee. We accidently miscommunitcated on our last batch so it turned out to be an amazing fondue!

At my mom's we got to play on the quads. Gary loved that a lot! My mom and I had a great time catching up and talking late into each night. We also went on Target trip. We found great sales and she spoiled Ellie with awesome new sparkly boots, a new pair of pink shoes and lots of other cool stuff. Ellie loved getting to know her family better and even learned to like dogs! Oh, and she decided it would be a geat time to get some molars. That was fun...

It was a really great trip. It made me realize how much I miss my family. They really are awesome and I am so blessed to come from such amazing people. I am really blessed!

Oh, I left my camera at my mom's house so she'll be mailing it soon. Once I get it I'll post pictures!
